Ski and snowboard hire Pyrenees Massif
Pyrenees ski resorts
The Pyrenees is one of Europe's great ski regions. It stretches for over 400 kilometres from the Perpignan region to the Basque country. The mountain range of south-western France is home to a number of ski resorts, particularly in the Pyrénée- Orientales, the eastern part of the Franco-Spanish chain.
These include Font Romeu, home of biathlon champion Martin Fourcade, Formiguères, Les Angles, Pyrénées 2000 and Porté-Puymorens. A little further down the Pyrenees, in the Ariège, the resorts of Ax 3 domaines, Ax les thermes, Bonascre 1400, Guzet and Monts d'Olmes are very popular during the winter holidays.
The Pyrénées-Atlantiques resorts of Gourette, La Pierre St Martin and Artouste Laruns are a little closer to the Basque country, but offer skiers and walkers the chance to discover the beautiful scenery in this region, which is home to the towns of Pau (France) and Pamplona (Spain). For lovers of the Haute Garonne, the resorts of Peyragudes and Luchon Superbagnères are the ideal place to combine sport and relaxation. Finally, the Pyrenees are home to a number of smaller resorts worth discovering, including Les Agudes and Reallon.
